Fellowship

In June 2008, Deshpande Center for Social Entrepreneurship launched an ambitious program focused on propagating social entrepreneurship. The Deshpande Fellowship Program (DFP) is an opportunity for young social leaders to be trained in the knowledge, skills and practices necessary for success in the development   sector.

Because the DFP values applied learning, the curriculum includes both an intense classroom component as well as incorporates interactive activities into every module. We, fellows regularly receive instruction from scholars and professionals who are top in their fields but also engage in exercises that use to go out of the classroom and into the community. On a weekly basis, we use to interact with both entrepreneurs and social entrepreneurs who share their stories of entrepreneurship, visions for the future and advice to achieving success.

We are consistently pushed to learn, achieve and develop personally, ultimately realizing our leadership potential. We are assessed throughout the program.  so that we can develop and continuously update individualized English language and computer literacy plans as necessary.

We are learning the fundamentals of launching a social enterprise and will receive ample guidance as they develop our own personal plans for creating social change. I want to apply the learnt things in my workplace and in my own enterprise (My long term goal) at the conclusion of this Fellowship awarded to me.
